ANOINTING OF THE SICK

The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, formerly referred to as Extreme Unction or Last Rites, is administered to both the dying or those who are gravely ill or about to undergo a serious operation.  The sacrament is administered to the dying for the remission of sins and the provision of spiritual strength and health and to the gravely ill for the recovery of health and strength.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of family, faith, and the blessings we share.
In this week of gratitude, open our hearts to remember Your goodness.
Teach us to see Your hand in every joy and every challenge.
Bless our homes with peace, our tables with abundance, and our community with unity.
May our lives always reflect a spirit of thanksgiving to You.
