OLP recognizes its responsibility to advocate for and carry out both spiritual and corporal works of mercy wherever the need may be.
This ministry provides an organized response to the needs of parishioners grieving the loss of a loved one. Members may assist in planning funeral liturgies and providing meals. They show support by being present at the Vigil Service, Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal and afterwards as needed. Volunteers are welcome to participate with the Parish in compassionate care and comfort to those who are grieving.
Community Ministry of North Augusta (CMONA)
CMONA is a consortium of 19 Churches established to serve the needs of the poor in our community. CMONA manages a thrift shop, food distribution center and financial assistance program for those in emergent situations. Volunteers serve in areas of interest or expertise. In addition to service to the poor, working with CMONA fosters an ecumenical spirit among volunteers. Parishioners also support these activities by donations of food, clothing and furniture.
Habitat for Humanity
OLP actively participates in this international ministry to eliminate sub-standard housing around the world; to shelter the homeless. Volunteers can work at building sites on Saturdays or participate with the supportive functions that make this ministry possible.
Right to Life
Fostering a respect for Gods gift of life from conception to natural death is the focus of this ministry. They work with local/national groups to promote Pro-Life attitudes consistent with the Churchs teaching.
Help feed the hungry! On the first and third Friday of each month a group of parishioners work at the Masters Table Soup Kitchen preparing and serving a full meal to approximately 200 people. Volunteers are needed to help plan the menu, prepare meals, serve the food, wash dishes and clean the facility. Help with any or all of these activities is welcome.
